* Composition: Each 100gm contains:
& & Betamethasone (as dipropionate) 0.05 gm (0.5%) (eq. to 0.064 gm Betamethasone Dipropionate) + Dexpanthenol 2.5 gm (2.5%).
* Indications:Betapanthen cream is indicated for the topical treatment of inflammatory dermatoses which include:
& & – Eczema in adults and children including atopic dermatitis, and discoid eczema, flexural eczema, and stasis eczema.
& & – Localised neurodermatitis (Lichen simplex chronicus).
& & – Seborrheic dermatitis.
& & – Psoriasis (excluding widespread plaque psoriasis).
& & – Napkin rash (as short term treatment in severe cases).
& & – Chronic dermatitis and primary irritant dermatitis.
& & – Cracked nipples, insect bites, sun burn, skin irritations and generalized erythroderma.
* Usage: Apply a thin layer to cover completely the affected area once or twice daily. Treatment should be continued few days
& & after symptoms have disappeared to maintain progressive improvement.
* Precautiuons:
& & – Appropriate antimicrobial therapy should be used when treating inflammatory lesions which have become infected.
& & Any spread of infection requires withdrawal of topical corticosteroid therapy and systemic administration of antimicrobial agents.
& & – Courses should be limited, if possible, and occlusion should not be used if Betapanthen cream is used in discoid lupus
& & erythematosus, severe eczema and on the face to avoid any atrophic changes.
& & – The possibility for systemic absorption particularly in infants and children should be considered when using the drug
& & on extensive area for prolonged time.
* Contra-indications:
& & – History of sensitivity to the drug components.
& & – Bacterial, mycotic and viral infections of the skin.
& & – Tuberculosis of the skin.
& & – Rosacea.
& & – Syphilis and perioral dermatitis.
& & – Acne vulgaris.
& & – Application to the eye.
* For external use only.
* Store below 25 degrees C.
