* Composition: Each Tablet Contains:
& & Acyclovir 800 mg.
* Indications:
& & – Acute treatment of Herpes zoster infections (shingles).
& & – Treatment of initial episodes and management of recurrent episodes of Genital Herpes.
& & – Treatment of Chickenpox.
* Dosage:
& & – Acute treatment of herpes zoster: 800mg every 4 hours orally, 5 times daily for 7 to 10 days.
& & – Treatment of initial genital herpes: 200 mg every 4 hours, 5 times daily for 10 days.
& & – Chronic Suppressive Therapy for recurrent disease: 400 mg 2 times daily for up to 12 months,
& & – Treatment of chickenpox: Adults and children over 40 kg: 800 mg 4 times daily for 5 days.
& & – Tablets could be taken with or without food.
& & – Complete the prescribed course unless otherwise directed.
* Contraindications:
& & Acivirax is contraindicated for patients who develop hypersensitivity to acyclovir or valacyclovir.
* Precautions and Warnings:
& & Patients should be advised not to be in contact with others in order to prevent the transmission of virus to them.
* Store below 30 degree C (at 25 degrees C && protect from light).
