** Brintellix (Vortioxetine) 20 mg 14 Film-coated tablets. For oral use.
** Composition:
Each film-coated tablet contains:
20 mg vortioxetine (as hydrobromide).
** Pharmacologic Category && Mechanism of Action:
Antidepressant, Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI): Inhibits reuptake of serotonin (5-HT)
Serotonin 5-HT1A Receptor Agonist;
Serotonin 5-HT3 Receptor Antagonist
** Use: Labeled Indications:
Major depressive disorder: Treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD)
** Dosage:
– Major depressive disorder: Oral: Initial: 10 mg once daily; increase to 20 mg once daily as tolerated; consider 5 mg once daily for patients who do not tolerate higher doses. Maintenance: 5-20 mg once daily.
– Discontinuation of therapy: Upon discontinuation of antidepressant therapy, gradually taper the dose to minimize the incidence of withdrawal symptoms and allow for the detection of re-emerging symptoms.
