* High Potency Broad Spectrum Antibacterial.
* Composition: Each film-coated tablet contains: Levofloxacin hemihydrate 768.7 mg Equi. to Levofloxacin 750 mg.
* Indications:
& & – Acute bacterial sinusitis due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis.
& & – Acute bacterial exacerbation of chronic bronchitis due to Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus
& & influenzae, Haemophilus para-influenzae.
& & – Complicated skin infectionsdue to methicillin susceptible Staphylococcus aureus, enterococcus faecalis, Streptococcus
& & pyogenes and Proteus mirabilis.
& & – Uncomplicated skin && skin structure infections including abscesses, cellulitis, furuncles, impetigo, wound infections, due to
& & Staphylococcus faecalis.
& & – Uncomplicated && complicated urinary tract infections (mild to moderate) due to enterococcus faecalis, Staphylococcus
& & epidermitis.
& & – Acute pyelonephritis (mild to moderate) due to Escherichia coli.
* Dose:
& & – The dosage range is 750 mg once daily.
& & – The duration of treatment depends upon the severity of the infection, clinical response && bacteriological findings.
& & Generally, treatment should be continued for at least 3 days after the signs && symptoms of the infection have disappeared.
& & For acute infections, the usual treatment period is 5-10 days with MEPAFLOXIN tablets.
& & For severe && complicated infection, more prolonged therapy may be required.
& & In streptococcal infections, the treatment must last at least 10 days because of the risk of late complications.
* Store in a cool dry place, at temperature not exceeding 30 degrees C.
